Thursday 10/31:
Howard County Highways was at the station assisting with marking our underground cistern for faster and simpler connections. The lines indicate how far away the engine should be, and where the pump intake should be lined up to ensure correct positioning on the first try.
Just before 2:00pm E41, TNK4, WS42, P46, and CF4A responded to a kitchen fire in the 15400 Block of Frederick Rd. E41 arrived to find a gas fed fire in the kitchen caused by a damaged gas line. Gas was secured and the fire quickly extinguished.
Around 4:30pm E41, WS42, and B48 responded to a reported combine fire in the 2100 Block of Rt. 97 in Glenwood. E131 arrived first and confirmed a small fire in the engine compartment.
At 5:30pm E41, B47, and ATV4 responded to a possible brush fire in the 700 Block of Ridge Rd in Mt. Airy. E41 arrived and confirmed a small brush fire that was already out.
Thursday evening ATV4, U4, and DTY4 attended trunk or treat with 4 members at the Morgan Chapel Church.
Friday 11/1:
At 2:30pm E41 responded to assist on a large brush fire on Glissans Mill Rd in Frederick County. E41 established a tanker fill site using a hydrant at Buffalo Rd and Old Vintage Run.
Just after 5:30pm E41, TNK4, and WS42 responded to the 300 Block of Hoods Mill Rd in Carroll County for a reported house fire that turned out to be a combine on fire threatening a second combine. WS42 assisted Sykesville VFC with off road access to the fire.
Over the 2 days P46 also responded to 8 EMS calls, including some during a transfer to Ellicott City to assist with countywide coverage.
