Christmas Day House Fire in Frederick County
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter

By Secretary Christopher Bowman
December 25, 2019

At just before 11am units from Carroll, Frederick, Howard, and Montgomery counties were alerted for the report of a house fire in the 6200 block of Woodville Rd in Frederick county. Units arrived to find fire and smoke showing, and the Rapid Intervention Dispatch, and Tanker Task Force were requested. E41 and ET44 responded on the initial dispatch and as more units were requested P45 was added to the assignment. A Second Alarm and Fire Task Force were also requested for additional manpower. Crews were able to control the fire in approximately 1 hour. One firefighter was transported to FMH for evaluation. The Frederick County Fire Marshall’s office is handling the investigation. E141 from the Merriweather Station transferred to our station to cover while our units operated on the fire. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.

On a brighter note, pictured below is Captain Natoli, the HCDFRS career captain assigned to our station. After a long career with HCDFRS, and an even longer time serving the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company he will be retiring on December 31st. He started as a volunteer at Lisbon in 1983 before getting hired as a career firefighter and moving up through the ranks. He was the first career captain assigned to our station and facilitated the transition to having career staffing for the suppression units. We would like to congratulate him on his retirement and thank him for his commitment to the Lisbon VFC and the fire service as a whole. This may end up being his last working fire as our station captain but we’re sure he’ll continue to serve the community for years to come.
