At just after 10am on Thursday July 11th, units from Lisbon, Winfield, and Sykesville were alerted for a report of a vehicle collision with rescue on Morgan Rd near the CSX railroad tracks. The vehicle involved was initially reported as a tractor trailer with an active fuel leak. The assignment was upgraded to include both the Carroll County HazMat team and HCDFRS Special Operations to assist with the fuel leak and potential heavy extrication of occupants from a commercial vehicle. RE4 arrived and found the vehicle involved was a large box truck, and the occupant was not trapped. The remainder of the assignment was placed in service after RE4's crew determined there was no fuel leak and no injuries as a result of the accident. Units operated for about 30 minutes before returning to service and turning the scene over to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office. Photos are courtesy of community members.
