By Secretary Christopher Bowman
January 22, 2018

At just after 1 a.m. on 1/22/2018 units responded on box alarm 8-8 in the 10300 block of Kingsbridge Rd for the report of a house fire. County police arrived on location and reported fire showing from multiple sides of the structure. Fire department units arrived shortly after and began to work on extinguishing the fire. Crews operated on the fire for over 5 hours.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. E41 was alerted to transfer to Ellicott City, Station 2, to cover their area while they operated on the fire. While enroute to their station E41 was diverted to the fire to provide additional manpower. E41 operated on the scene for several hours assisting the other units. After clearing the fire E41 completed the transfer to Station 2 and covered their area for approximately an hour and a half.

While E41 was operating on the fire RE4 was alerted to transfer to West Friendship VFD to cover while they also operated on the fire. RE4 responded and covered Station 3 for several hours until E31 was clear of the fire. P46 also handled a medical emergency in our first due while the suppression units were covering elsewhere.
